# Developer Agreement

What you agree to when your organization publishes calendar plug-ins in the Kanboombo Plug-in Store. Version 1, in plain language.

> [!IMPORTANT]
> Version 1, in effect from 1 October 2026. Your organization accepts it once,
> in the publishing portal, before it submits a plug-in. When a new version is
> posted here, you accept it before your next submission.

This agreement is between your organization, which publishes plug-ins
through its owners and admins, and Batey Business Labs LLC, which makes
Kanboombo. "You" is your organization; "we" and "Kanboombo" are Batey
Business Labs LLC.

## 1. What you publish {#what-you-publish}

You publish plug-ins that follow [contract 1](/developers/plugins/reference/manifest/)
and the [Guidelines](/developers/plugins/guidelines/). Every version you
submit carries five statements: that you may publish its data, that each
source is its holder's own publication, that its records name no private
person, that it never tries the network, and that its records report what the
source says without selling or persuading. Those statements are part
of this agreement, and you make them again with each version.

You may publish a source's data only when its holder's licence allows it, the
holder has given you permission, it is in the public domain, or it is your
own. If that changes, you tell us and stop publishing it.

## 2. Your code stays yours {#your-code}

You keep every right in your plug-in: its code, its listing, its icon. You
give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store them, to
check them and run them on our Servers, to show the listing and its example
days in the Plug-in Store, and to keep the records your plug-in wrote. You can
end that licence for anything not yet written by retiring the plug-in; the
records already written stay, as section 3 says.

Code we give you to build with — the `kanboombo-plugin.mjs` tool, the example
plug-ins and the code on these pages — is yours to use under the MIT No
Attribution licence.

## 3. Records stay on readers' days {#records-stay}

A reader who installs your plug-in keeps the records it wrote. When you
unpublish, retire or update it, or when we take it down, those records stay,
as far as the data's own licence allows (`retain` in your manifest). Your
plug-in's id is never given to anyone else.

## 4. How your plug-in runs {#how-it-runs}

Your plug-in runs in a locked room on our Servers: no network, no secrets, no
access to anything but its own files and the sources it declares. You don't
try to get around that, you don't try to learn who installed it, and you
don't put anything in it that would harm a reader, our Servers or anyone else.

## 5. Review, takedown and reports {#review}

A person at Kanboombo reviews every version before it is published, and may
ask you for changes or decline it, with a reason. We may take a published
plug-in down at any time — for its data's licence, for harm, for
impersonation, for breaking, or because the law requires it — with a short
message its readers see. Readers can report a plug-in; you see why, never who.
You can always submit a new version.

## 6. Your domain and your name {#your-domain}

You publish under a domain you verify, and you keep it verified. If we can
no longer verify it, your plug-ins keep running for 14 days while you put the
proof back; after that you verify it again before you submit. You don't
publish under a name that claims to be someone else, Kanboombo included.

## 7. No fees, no ads, no payments {#no-fees}

Publishing is free. Your plug-in doesn't advertise, sell, or ask a reader for
payment, and its listing doesn't either.

## 8. Your listing tells the truth {#your-listing}

Your listing describes what your plug-in puts on a reader's days, links a
privacy policy that is accurate, and gives a support contact that answers.
You keep them current.

## 9. What we don't promise {#no-promises}

The Plug-in Store, the tools and the Servers are provided as they are. We
may change them or stop offering them; when we do, we tell publishers first
when we can. To the extent the law allows, neither of us is liable to the
other for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability under
this agreement is limited to one hundred US dollars. You are responsible for
your right to publish your plug-in's data, and you will cover us for claims
that it was not yours to publish.

## 10. Changes to this agreement {#changes}

A new version is posted on this page with its date and a note on what
changed. You accept it in the publishing portal before your next submission.
Until then, your published versions keep running under the version you
accepted.

## 11. Ending {#ending}

You can stop publishing at any time: retire your plug-ins in the portal. We
can end this agreement if you break it, and tell you why. Sections 2 (for
records already written), 3 and 9 last after it ends.

## 12. The law {#law}

This agreement is governed by the laws of the state in which Batey Business
Labs LLC is organized. Questions about it go to Kanboombo through
[About](https://kanboombo.com/about/).
